Field Scenario
At the end of a long installation day, you’re tempted to do a quick, rushed handover (“here’s the remote, it works, call us if there’s a problem”) rather than the full orientation this lesson describes, since the job itself is technically complete and correct.
What You Actually Do
You take the time for a proper handover walkthrough regardless of how long the day has been — covering actual operation, safety information (especially glass temperature if relevant), and confirming warranty registration — because a technically correct installation with a rushed, incomplete handover still leaves the customer without information they genuinely need.
Why This Matters
A customer who doesn’t understand basic safe operation, or whose warranty never gets properly registered because handover was rushed, experiences a worse outcome even though the physical installation itself was done correctly — the job isn’t actually complete until handover is done properly too.
What a Strong Response Includes
- Completing a proper handover regardless of how tired or behind schedule you are.
- Covering safety information directly, not assuming the customer will read the manual.
- Confirming warranty registration before considering the job finished.
