What You Actually Do
You catch this before final installation and sign-off, measure the actual clearance against the manufacturer’s ventilation requirement, and flag the conflict with the carpenter and GC if the cabinetry doesn’t provide adequate clearance — installing into inadequate clearance now, planning to deal with the resulting thermal shutoff complaints later, is not an acceptable approach.
Why This Matters
